So...a new spell idea
Enchanted Weapon or perhaps Ensorcelled Weapon Alteration prof
With the weapon in your inventory (so you have to be able to pick it up), you cast Enchanted Weapon on it and it because a follower. It is similar to Dancing Sword but has all the abilities of the original weapon, including autocasts. Its number of attacks = original weapon speed / 10. The weapon stays around for a decent amount of time and can be slain (hitpoints could be 10 x its usage level) or completely dispelled with cast 'dispel magic' magic, dispel evil, or dispel good. It would add to the number of pets a mage can have just like regular pets. The weapon is completely consumed in the process, whether or not the spell succeeds. The level of the weapon also cannot exceed the level of the caster (yeah, right...watch me walking around with Medusa's Snake Hair guarding me, assuming I could pick it up).

OH MY GOD! SOMEONE ELSE MADE A TOPIC!
I kind of liked this spell idea, but I'm not sure about it. Mages don't really need it at all with their current setups, and since it's pretty similar to Dancing Sword in some concept ways, I'm a little hesitant to support it. Perhaps something for a new class someday? Just my opinion for now. You'll prolly see this spell someday!

Dancing sword doesn't increase in ability as your levels go up and can be cast on other players and mobs. This was to be a caster only spell that could not be cast on others.

Pen and paper wise they're completely different, but conceptually they're very similar, that's what I mean.

I have suggested something very similar like this a few times but for mystics. I think it would be an awesome skill/spell. Seems more mysticy to my cause mages have Dancing Sword already.

Ahh yeah, I forgot that it ws you who was mentioning this skill a while ago. I really do like the concept of this one pretty well, but like I was saying -- It's got a few issues that would have to be solved before I could seriously consider giving it to any class. For one thing, it's SO similar RP-wise to dancing sword. Now, we could rename dancing sword and give it a new concept, but I don't know if that would be a good idea, either. I like dancing sword. Then we'd have the other issue... who gets it. Mages certainly don't need two animated sword abilities. Mystics don't really need another pet. Any further thoughts?

Why not replace the current Dancing Sword with this Spell. It is more powerful but also requires more effort to make the spell work.
